Legistive branch is the Governor General, house of commons and senate. The governor general is a person who represents the British crown in Canada. The governor general is appointed by the queen. The house of commons is the first legislative body of parliament whose member are elected. The house of common are elected by citizens in general election, they have to win their ridings and number of seats in the House of Commons depends on the population. The senate is the second legislative body, who meet up to discuss and make the laws of a country. From the recommendation of the prime minister, the Governor General appoints senators. The Legistive branch has power to make, amend change and pass laws.
